OVERVIEW:
This passion project focused on creating a polished title-card animation supported by a tight, self-developed branding guideline. The goal was to challenge myself creatively—building a cohesive visual identity from scratch while exploring the styling and energy of major entertainment brands.
ROLE/SCOPE:
I handled the entire creative process end-to-end. This began with researching visual trends and motion styles from major award shows like the VMAs and BET Awards, then building a moodboard of references that captured the tone I wanted. From there, I sketched out multiple logo concepts, refined the strongest direction, and used those foundations to develop a concise branding system—color palette, typography, spacing, and motion rules—that ultimately guided the look and feel of the title-card animation.
CHALLENGES / SOLUTIONS:
A key challenge was inventing a distinct and polished identity without any client parameters or existing brand to anchor the direction. To overcome this, I leaned heavily into the research and moodboarding phase, letting those visual cues shape a clear design language. Another challenge was translating rough logo sketches into a functioning, animated mark. Through iteration and experimentation in motion, I developed a title-card animation that felt intentional, modern, and fully aligned with the tone set in the branding guidelines.
